Lauren Gibbs

Lauren joined Hope Street Group in July, 2010
Before joining Hope Street Group, Lauren was the Director of Public Policy and Communications at the Success for All Foundation and a Senior Federal Policy Analyst for the John Hopkins University Center for Research and Reform in Education. Splitting her time between these two related positions, Lauren worked with Congress and the U.S. Department of Education to advance policies that promoted evidence-based education reforms. Lauren penned the “Washington Corner” column in the magazine Better, in which she regularly updated school leaders and researchers around the country about federal policy changes that would impact the use of evidence in education.
Previously, Lauren worked for the Committee on Education and Labor in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she staffed the Subcommittee on 21st Century Competitiveness and advised Ranking Member Dale Kildee on issues including early childhood education, K-12 education, and higher education. Lauren started her policy career as a legislative assistant for Representative Raul Grijalva, advising the Congressman on all issues related to education, labor, healthcare, women, children, and international HIV/AIDS.
Lauren has a BA in political science and philosophy from Albright College. She is currently completing an MPA from George Washington University.
